PT Management Wt state-owned right of participation of 53.44 percent on the block Tonga PSC has received approval for development plans of the government. Development plan approval has been obtained on 10 April 2012.
Tonga PSC block is located in North Sumatra and is currently operated by a subsidiary of Energi Mega Persada, PT Mosesa Petroleum.
"Tonga PSC is expected to begin oil production in the first half of 2012," said Managing Director of Energi Mega Persada, Imam Agustino, in a written statement received by VIVAnews in Jakarta, Friday, April 20, 2012.
According Agustino, during 2012, average oil production of 1200 barrels per day is expected. Tonga has certified field reserves or reserves proven, scalable, and terunjuk as many as 7 million barrels.
Meanwhile, the number of prospects or the best estimate of resources from other fields as many as 31.2 million barrels. "This is a very positive outcome of Tonga PSC block," he said.
He explained, Mega Energy team is currently completing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate the production of first oil from the block. If the block Tonga PSC immediately produce oil in the first half of this year, is expected to contribute positively to the company.
